Autopaychecks is excited to feature our client Colorado Discover Ability (CDA) for the month of November. For the past 37 years, CDA has been providing outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities in Mesa County.
CDA has been an Autopaychecks client since 2007, and they enjoy the benefits of payroll processing, payroll tax filing, and labor poster services. Autopaychecks supports Colorado Discover Ability, and we are grateful for our business partnership.
CDA provides a variety of year-round outdoor experiences. During the winter CDA operates the adaptive ski and snowboard program at Powderhorn Mountain Resort, serving children, adults and veterans with discounted skiing and snowboarding lessons. During the spring, summer, and fall, CDA offers adaptive cycling, day trip and overnight river rafting and kayaking adventures, day camps for children, and a three-day, two-night camp for children with severe disabilities.
In 2016 and 2017, CDA created a new adaptive cycling, skiing, and whitewater river rafting program for veterans with disabilities, and two consecutive Veterans Administration Adaptive Sports Grants were given to CDA to allow the program to be free of charge to veterans.
Because Mesa County has a higher percentage of people with disabilities per capita than the State of Colorado and the United States, CDA will continue to expand services to children, veterans, and other adults by reaching out to those who do not know of, or have not heard of, the opportunities to improve their quality of life.
CDA’s mission is to increase the independence, self-confidence, self-worth, and education of people with disabilities, their families, and friends, through outdoor recreation. CDA envisions every person with a disability learning a new outdoor skill that has therapeutic value for better health, a higher level of independence, and increased motivation to learn new skills.
Thank you, Colorado Discover Ability, for allowing us to partner with you and for your positive impact.
